Guatemalan Dishes on the Menu
Each day you get to pick which dishes you will learn at the cooking school. Later on, you can enjoy the fruits of your labor by dining in the courtyard or dining room. Cooking classes are limited to five students and last three hours, but larger groups can be accommodated if you make reservations.
A lesson usually consists of learning to prepare a main plate, two side dishes and a dessert such as Arroz con Leche. The class lasts about two to two-and-a-half hours. The meal is then served in the beautiful courtyard. Wine and drinks are available at the bar.
Other Guatemalan dishes that are taught include: Pollo Guisado, Guacamole, Rellenitos and Atol de Platano. In addition to the lessons, all students recipes copies of each recipe they learn to cook at school as well as reduced prices on drinks at JP's RumBar.
