Plata
Plata serves as the foundation of Tequila Antigua Sol’s collection, embodying the pure essence of the agave. Rested in stainless-steel vats for 18 to 23 days before bottling, this tequila delivers a perfectly balanced flavor profile with savory aromatic spices, gentle hints of vanilla, and a touch of citrus zest. Its exceptionally smooth texture and mild heat make it an ideal choice for savoring neat, enjoying chilled, or serving as a versatile base for refined cocktails.
Our production begins in the mineral-rich volcanic highlands of Mexico, where blue Weber agave thrives in the unique combination of arid climate and fertile soil. Each agave plant is cultivated for a minimum of eight years, ensuring it reaches peak maturity before being hand-harvested with care. The agave is then brought to Compañía Tequilera de Arandas, S.A. de C.V. – an award-winning distillery renowned for its artisanal methods and innovative approach. Here, the agave is slow-baked using an eco-conscious Eco-Boiler system, blending tradition with sustainability to preserve natural sweetness and complexity.
The production process continues with the precise extraction of agave nectar through a 4-millimeter press, enhanced with the purity of artesian well water. This nectar is transferred into expansive 23,000-liter open-vat fermentation tanks, where it ferments naturally for up to four days. This step is critical, as it allows the agave’s rich character to fully develop, creating the foundation for the tequila’s nuanced flavor profile. The fermentation is followed by a double distillation process: first in a stainless-steel pot to achieve a 30% ABV and then refined in a traditional copper pot to reach 55% ABV, ensuring a smooth and elegant finish.
